Life style Factors Influencing Quality of Life in Adult Patients with Liver disease - Analysis from the Korea National Health and Nutrition

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate Life style factors influencing quality of life in the adult patients with liver disease. Methods: This study was conducted by a secondary data analysis of "The Fourth Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, 2008". The survey included 9774 adults aged over 19 years with liver disease and 157 samples were used for this study. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 17.0 program and descriptive statistics, Pearson¡¯s correlations, and multiple regression analyses were performed. Results: The degree of quality of subjects were 6.0 in average. The correlated life style factors of quality of life included average amount of drinking at one time, perceived stress, experience of depressive symptoms, suicidal thoughts and walking time. Average amount of drinking at one time, suicidal thoughts and walking time accounted for 21% of quality of life. Conclusion: This study suggests that nursing researchers need to consider life style with drinking, stress, suicidal thoughts and physical activity as important factors affecting quality of life Korean adults with liver disease and nursing intervention focusing on the issues needs to be developed.
